The main body of steel production is Tangsteel Company New District, located in Tangshan Leting Economic Development Zone, the completed intelligent "unmanned" material yard is the first in the world. ZXHT (formerly HBIS XuanSteel) is the backbone subsidiary of HBIS. Its predecessor was LongYan Iron Ore Co., LTD., which was founded in 1919. Some of the pioneers represented by Ma Wanshui, the first generation model worker of New China, have made historic contributions to the development of China's iron and steel industry. HBIS Mining, established in September 2008, is strategically situated within Tangshan City, serving as a pivotal raw material cornerstone for the HBIS Group. It is a colossal modernized mining enterprise primarily engaged in the extraction, selection, and processing of iron ore, supplemented by related industries such as comprehensive resource utilization, pyrotechnics, and the manufacturing of mining equipment. Currently, HBIS Mining operates eight iron ore production bases, controlling an iron ore resource of over 3 billion tons, and possessing an annual production capacity of 10 million tons of iron fine powder. In the 2022 ranking, it held the fifth position in the "Top 50 Chinese Metallurgical and Mining Enterprises".
HBIS Mining has set a benchmark in the construction of "Green Mining". It has released and implemented the first domestic "Ecological Civilization Construction Plan" for mining enterprises. It took the lead in formulating the "Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Plan". The company also spearheaded the performance grading efforts in the ore mining and processing sector of Hebei Province. Notably, the Zhongguan Iron Mine has been acclaimed as the sole "National-level Intelligent Manufacturing Demonstration Plant" among domestic mines, and it proudly stands as the inaugural "National-level High-tech Enterprise" within the province's mining domain.
Shisteel as the specialized special steel bar and wire rod production enterprise, is the landmark enterprise in the special steel sector of HBIS Group. Shisteel is the main supplier of high-end equipment manufacturing materials at domestic and overseas, and the national high-tech enterprise. Shisteel completed the construction of the new plant and put into operation on Oct 29, 2020, achieving location adjustment and transformation, upgrading and development. Shisteel has transitioned from long-process to short-process production, and has been awarded the titles of Hebei Province's single champion enterprise, national green short-process intelligent manufacturing demonstration factory, "Digital Pilot" enterprise, and national green factory.
